Primary Source Information
In accordance with standards published by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), ABPS conducts primary source verification of the podiatric medical school graduation, residency training completion, and state licensure for each ABPS member and board qualified with an active status.
State Licensure
Over 40 states require passing the examination administered by the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners to obtain a state license.
Residencies
There are more than 200 institutions that sponsor podiatric residency training programs. There are typically over 1,000 residents in training in any one year.
